Installation guide
Last updated: December 2025. Follow these steps to install your software. Always download installation media from official Microsoft sources or the links supplied with your order.
Before you begin — system requirements
For Microsoft Office (typical perpetual retail):
- Windows 10 or later, or supported macOS for Mac editions
- At least 4 GB RAM (8 GB recommended)
- Several gigabytes of free disk space; SSD recommended
- Internet access for activation and updates
For Windows OS (clean install scenario)
Minimum guidance — check Microsoft’s page for your exact edition:
- 64-bit capable CPU, TPM/firmware requirements for Windows 11 where applicable
- Sufficient RAM and storage for the edition you are installing
- Bootable USB (8 GB+) if you are installing from media
Microsoft Office installation — step 1: download Office
1. Open https://setup.office.com/ in your browser — Microsoft’s official Office setup page. 2. Sign in with your Microsoft account (or create one). 3. Enter your 25-character product key when prompted. 4. Click Install Office to download the installer. If your Wandlit order email includes another official Microsoft download link, you may use that instead.
Microsoft Office — step 2: run the installer
1. Open the downloaded file. 2. Approve User Account Control if Windows asks. 3. Wait while Office downloads components — this can take 15–30 minutes on slower connections. 4. Restart if the installer requests it.
Microsoft Office — step 3: activate
1. Open Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. 2. Sign in with the same Microsoft account used during setup. 3. Complete activation prompts under File → Account. 4. If activation fails, see /help/activation.
Windows — create installation media
1. On a working PC, download Microsoft’s Media Creation Tool from the official Windows download page. 2. Run the tool and choose Create installation media. 3. Select USB flash drive (8 GB or larger recommended). 4. Complete the wizard and keep the drive safe.
Windows — clean install (summary)
1. Boot from the USB (common keys: F12, F2, Del — varies by manufacturer). 2. Follow the on-screen installer; choose custom install for a clean disk if intended. 3. Enter your product key when prompted (or sign in with a digital license where applicable). 4. After install, go to Settings → System → Activation and confirm Windows is activated.
